At the NY Minority Women Foundation (NYMWF), we believe that strong communities create empowered women and thriving children. We are dedicated to cultivating a strong sense of community, support, and social harmony for women, children, and families. Our mission is to foster social harmony, build support networks, and provide opportunities for growth—personally, professionally, and socially. Through community-driven initiatives, cultural celebrations, and educational programs, we equip women and children with the tools they need to succeed.
Our events are thoughtfully designed to create awareness, stimulate social change, and offer networking opportunities, ensuring that every woman and child feels supported, valued, and empowered. By investing in personal development and enhancing community engagement, we aim to build a future where women lead with confidence, children grow with opportunity, and communities thrive together.

The NY Minority Women Foundation (NYMWF) was honored to be one of the collaborators with the Nassau County Office of Asian American Affairs in organizing America’s biggest Iftar at the Police Academy in Garden City. This historic gathering brought together thousands of Muslim community members for a night of reflection, unity, and celebration.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, using this sacred time to cultivate self-discipline, spiritual growth, and empathy for those less fortunate. The Iftar meal, where the fast is broken, is a deeply meaningful tradition that strengthens family and community bonds. This grand event not only embraced this tradition but also highlighted the spirit of togetherness, generosity, and social harmony that defines Ramadan.
As part of our mission at NYMWF, we remain committed to fostering inclusivity, empowering communities, and creating impactful social engagements that bring people together in meaningful ways.
